Assistant Principal

Dear Black's Mill Family,

Welcome to Black’s Mill Elementary!  My name is Mandy Smith and I have worked in the  Dawson County School System for 22 years.  I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from Brenau University, a Master’s of Education Degree from Piedmont College, and an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial.   I began my teaching career here at Black's Mill Elementary where I taught first grade for 3 years. I then moved to Kilough Elementary where I taught for 15 years. I taught Kindergarten, First, Second, Third, and Fourth Grade at Kilough.

As the Assistant Principal, I am excited to start my 4th year as AP and to work with Mrs. Kinney to make this the best school year ever.  I am looking forward to working with our dedicated staff to provide the best possible education for our students.  Parents are an essential part of the learning community at BMES.  I hope that you can play an active role in your child’s education.

I will work diligently to help provide an excellent educational experience for our students at Black’s Mill Elementary School.  If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact the BMES office (706) 216-3300. Mandy Smith
